Hey guys, this is Greg again. I know it’s kinda late, but I just wanted to give you the heads up. Starting tomorrow (Sept. 13), 4 game shows are having their season premieres. These shows are, naturally, Millionaire, Family Feud, Jeopardy!, and Wheel of Fortune. Now, let’s cover some of these.
Jeopardy!: Same game, give answers to clues in the form of a question. Same dollar amounts, same theme, same host, and same announcer. That’s right, Alex and Johnny are back for another season. Let’s see if we can get another Ken Jennings.
Wheel of Fortune: New logo, same basic game. Have you checked out their new logo?
Looks kinda old-school to me. Anyway, according to my good friends at BuzzerBlog, there’s going to be a few minor changes. First off, the $25,000 prize so famously associated with the show is vanishing. Gone. Kaput. Now, if you win the Bonus Round, you’re guaranteed at least $30,000 in cash. And if you win a car, you get a bonus $5,000 in cash. This is probably to cover taxes. And if you get a Spin ID over at SonyRewards and it shows up, you could win a trip. OK, so it isn’t new, but my ID still hasn’t come up. At least, I don’t think it has. And they’re showing the first 2 weeks from the Palazzo in Las Vegas, meaning we won’t see the new title until 2 weeks from now.
Family Feud: John O’Hurley has left, and the show has moved to Universal Orlando. Meaning, if you’re in the East Coast, you should be very happy. But you’re not going to believe who they replaced John with. It’s Steve Freakin’ Harvey! We have a black president, but does that mean we need a black host for Family Feud? And to add insult to injury, according to BuzzerBlog, who got it from Feud’s Twitter account, they’re replacing longtime announcer Burton Richardson with Joey Fatone. Joey Fatone? Really? Really? Come on! He has NO announcing experience! None! Zip! But yet he manages to get the job. If you want anyone to blame, blame it on your friends at Dismantle Media. Sheesh! Well, all’s not lost. Burton’s going to be on Family Game Night for the new Hasbro channel The Hub. More info here.
Millionaire: A whole lot of changes going on. So many that I can’t explain them all to you. Let me put it this way: [Potentially] More risk, more money, fewer questions. It’s a new way to play the game, and my pal Alex Davis has all the answers right here. If you’d like to see the game in action, go to their website. They have a Flash version of the game you can play. I’ve played it, and it’s fun! I can’t wait for the new season to start.
So, keep track of this day. If you can find the time, then skip class and watch. But, I have a feeling it’ll end up on YouTube sooner or later.
