Pyramid’s Rotating Announcers

Hello again. This is a continuation of the last post, where I announced that Jim Thornton was the new announcer of Wheel of Fortune. I mentioned that Wheel and Price weren’t the only game shows to have rotating announcers on the air. Naturally, every game show has substitutes when the original can’t make it in that day and taping cannot be held over. This was especially true in the 70s and 80s, and especially with Pyramid (videos courtesy of YouTube).

I think Bob Stewart did a smart thing, allowing different announcers to step in every so often. I just wish they’d do it more often.
